Parents Morning Out
Kim Drake has been the assistant in the PMO class for the past two years and is very excited to be the lead teacher this year! Kim grew up in Eastern North Carolina and studied elementary and special education at ECU. Prior to coming to St. Paul’s, Kim worked at Vidant for 14 years but left to be a stay at home mom to her six children who have attended St. Paul’s Preschool since 2005. Kim and her husband, Daniel, love spending time with their family and friends at the beach.
Tracy Hodgin is a graduate of both the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a B.S. in Biology and the Presbyterian Hospital School of MedicalTechnology. After working in hospital laboratories, she made the decision to join St. Paul’s Preschool, and has been in the PMO classroom since 2012. She and her husband, Joey, have a daughter, Kaitlyn.
Two Year Olds
This is Carroll Langdon’s fourth year at St. Paul’s, and second year as the lead teacher in the two-year-old classroom. Born and raised in East Carolina, she received her B.S. in Communications from East Carolina University. She now lives in Winterville with her husband and their two daughters. In her spare time, you can find Carroll in her family’s horse barn where she enjoys showing horses.
Pam Brock is new to St. Paul’s this year, but is not new to the teaching world. Pam has her BS from ECU in early childhood education and taught second grade for 30 years. In retirement, Pam help with her grandchildren full-time who are now in elementary school. Pam married her childhood sweetheart, Clip Brock, and together they have two children and four grandchildren. St. Paul’s is very excited to have Pam join our family this year!
Three Year Olds
Daphne Nifong has been a part of the St. Paul’s Preschool Family since September 2006. She has been an assistant in the three and four year old classrooms and lead teacher in the PMO classroom. This year Daphne will be back with the three year olds as lead teacher. Daphne was a stay at home mom for 11 years before coming to St. Paul’s Preschool. She has a B.S. in Health Administration, which is the field she worked in prior to starting her family. Daphne grew up in Eastern N.C. and she and her husband, Wiley, have two children, both in college. She enjoys spending time with family and friends at the beach.
Cheryl Sudzina has 15 years of experience being a teaching assistant for a range of ages including preschool through 8th grade. She and her husband, Dave, moved to Greenville in 1998 with their two children. Cheryl and Dave are active members at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Cheryl began teaching at St. Paul’s in the fall of 2000 and began assisting Libby in 2003. In 2006, it looked like Cheryl’s family would relocate to a different state, so she said goodbye to St. Paul’s. The relocation never transpired, and in 2014 Cheryl returned to St. Paul’s once again.
Four Year Olds
Kimberly Carson is a graduate of East Carolina University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Criminal Justice. After spending two years as a case manager with “at risk youth” Kimberly coordinated continuing education programs for medical professionals. She took a short break to stay at home with her daughter, Reagan, before returning to work. She found a home at St. Paul’s Preschool and has been working in the classroom for since 2010. On weekends, Kimberly enjoys riding horses, participating in equestrian events and doing arts and crafts.
Libby Jethro has joined the four year old class as teacher assistant this year. She is excited to be working with Kimberly Carson in a new role and a new classroom after serving as the lead teacher in the three year old class since 2001. She has a B.S. degree in Education (k-4) from UNC-Chapel Hill. Prior to teaching at St. Paul’s, Libby taught preschool in Winston-Salem and Rocky Mount and public school kindergarten in Wake County. Libby and her husband, Gordon, have three sons. Besides teaching, Libby enjoys volunteering with her church and Pitt County Schools, traveling, and spending time with her friends and family at the beach.
Gretchen Hvastkovs grew up in California and attended college in Wyoming. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Wyoming in Family and Consumer Sciences. After college, her family relocated to Connecticut before settling in Greenville. Gretchen and her husband are very active with their three children. Prior to taking the director position, Gretchen was the lead teacher in the two year old room. She is looking forward to making a positive change here with the St. Paul’s Preschool family.
Heather Alexander has been the assistant in the two year old classroom for the past two years, but is now going to be helping in all of our classrooms as a resource aid. Heather studied Graphic Design at Pitt Community College. Prior to coming to St. Paul’s, she was a stay at home mom but previously worked at Keller Williams Reality and along with her husband, Todd, they owned their own photography business. Born and raised in Washington, Heather now lives in Greenville with her husband and their two children. Heather loves photography and being at the beach anytime she gets a chance!
